Band Camp/Subway/devotion

I just got back from band camp today. It lasted 3 days and 2 nights. It was quite tiring because i had little and uncomfortable sleep. But nevertheless it was still quite enjoyable. I got to know my friends in band better. Thats the thing about camps. They do that to you. I am quite excited about the performance this sunday. I hope everything goes according to plan! One of the most things i remember about band camp is well, the pain. But its a good kind of pain, because it makes you stronger. Especially the muscle aches and back aches you get from doing the 'catapillar' walks and sleeping on tables for 2 nights. But you see the point of it all, is not that i am complaining but i think that its EVERYTHING that makes an experience. Be it good or bad. So the pain is part of the experience. To my surprise i like the 'catapillar' walk because it really teaches you teamwork and somehow, you will really bond as a group. Its precisely these kind of things that forces you to communicate as a group whether you want to win or not and hence resulting in team-bonding.

After band, my pops came to fetch me which i was very grateful for, and than went to 'da-bao' subway. Or if you dont get 'da-bao' it means takeaway. I ordered a foot-long tuna sandwich. In which it included: Parmesan bread toasted with cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, capsicums, onions, chip-something southwest sauce. I also made it into a regular meal with 2 cookies and a medium drink of barley. To top that off i bought 2 cheese round pancakes thing from the jollybean shop. I gave one to my pop. Yes, i ate ALOT. A whole lot. But the goodnews is, it lasted me till dinner. I didn't eat dinner, i skipped it.

So than when i came home it was about 2:53pm only 7 more mins till my show ends. Which was sad because this was the episode of the 'twin' of amanda king, and i really wanted to see it. But oh well, too bad, next time i guess. Than after that i ate and watched 'Jingle All The Way' for the rest of my meal. I inevitably fell asleep on the sofa and slept until about 15 mins to 9pm which would be 8.45pm. Than i showered.

I finally managed to do my devotion after 3 days without it. It was refreshingly awesome. And than i thought about many things. In which i thought about this, or rather i came up with this, i think or rather we sometimes think that God is so ordinary, but this is because He is so humble. I mean the only reason why we think that things are good or great, is because their actions matches their words and it is of high standards or quality. But if something is really good, but you know, not much is said about it than obviously people would not really know. Ah.. it something that also i am a bit confused with anyway i also thought up a metaphor. About....... Love. Love is like an indie band that had such an original sound and went mainstream and onto the radio. This metaphor that i thought up, shows 1 thing, how love is not really properly portrayed in the world today, its ... its like the commercialization of love. Yes you could say that.

Anyways, my bro just did this, it think its pretty neat. Its just a snippet of "Hosanna" by Brooke Frasier of Hillsong United. He did it on ze mac. You can download it here:
www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=BA604877793A6FD0

OR you can listen to it here:

So you can either listen to it and like and than download or listen to it and not like and not download it. Your choice. ;)

Anberlin (not the band)

I know anberlin is a band. But i decided to call my uke, anberlin.
But not because of the band. I dont really listen to em anyways.
But anberlin suits.

Anberlin Green.

(Ah, i am sure its gonna change soon anyways........)

Band was hilariousity

Today band was hilarious! Pris Yap and i half way through band started exchanging words with their meanings. It all started with me taking a picture of myself on her phone. (But don't get the wrong idea its not what you think... haha) Than she said "Ai yo! Pris ah, you are so obese!" And i was like "huh? what are you talking about???!?!" "You are so obese! Take picture of yourself!" In my mind i was thinking "ok, i think she meant obsessed." Than, she corrected herself, "Oh, i mean Obsessed!" From than on, we both went hysterical. We just couldn't stop laughing, the people around us thought we had lost our sanity. (which i dont get cause laughter honestly is one of the best things humans can do and should do, because its a gift.)

"Ai yo, pris you are so obese-d with yourself!" " I am obese-d with my ukulele!"
Things like that.

We went on to exchange other words like 'tired' for 'tried'. Than we would go on to form a sentence like "I tired my best!" and "I know, after you play the drums you will be very tried".

There was also 'sue' and 'shoe'
"I will shoe you ah!" and "Where is my sue?"

Ridiculous. Definitely.
Hilarious? Absolutely.

We also did other stuff other than laugh, during band. Like when we did sectionals,
i got to play my bongos, or congos or whatever its called. Its really cool. I have a solo for the upcoming performance @ Normanton Park. Which i think will be very scary. But exciting.

Than when i came home i played my ukulele. Ah, boy do i miss it! =)
It sure feels good..... Right now i am learning how to play Jack
Johnson's "Better Together". I am almost there. Almost. (pronouced ohh.... most)

Alrighty than, gotta blast!

uku the mighty

I found out about this band when i was searching for "Jack Johnson ukulele" on google. The vocals aren't that good to be honest. But what i like about this band is the acoustic sound. Its really cool.

Listen to this:

Yes, and all that was done on ukuleles. Beautiful aint it?
Never underestimate the power of a uke. Let alone 3 ukes.

What Tom Wilson has been up to

Tom Wilson, the actor or most well known as 'Biff' the big bully in Back To The Future (the best movie ever!). I guess among all the other fellow o actors from BTTF, he is by far the most successful in terms of their careers after BTTF.

He now is a stand-up comedian, painter, singer, writer, voice artist ( for the show spongebob occasionally). Whoa. That was long.

He has he's own website(www.tomwilsonusa.com) 2 in fact, (www.bigpopfun.com) for his painting, blog(tomwilsonusa.blogspot.com), and even a myspace! (http://www.myspace.com/tomwilsonusa)

How cool is that?

Comedian alright.

Better Together

I like the fact that he squeezes so many words into the melody. Just like Jason Mraz. But even better.

Drugs hidden in Mr. Potato Head's head!

SYDNEY, Australia - Customs officers discovered nearly 10.5 ounces of ecstasy tablets hidden inside a Mr. Potato Head toy sent to Australia from Ireland, the agency said Thursday.
Upon opening the parcel, the officers were greeted with the smiling face of the popular children's toy, which features a potato-like head and removable facial features. But when they removed a panel from the back of the toy, the officers found 10.34 ounces of ecstasy in a plastic bag.
The Australian Customs Service referred the matter to federal police, but no arrests were immediately made, the agency said. The maximum penalty for importing drugs to Australia is life imprisonment. "Whilst this is one of the more unusual concealments that we have seen in recent times, people need to be aware that Customs officers are alert to unusual and often outlandish methods of concealment," Customs Director Post Karen Williams said.

I was searching for Mr.Potato Head pictures on google when this came up. Pretty interesting.

My first drawing is Spidey! There are 3 steps to drawing spidey.

First i drew him in pencil.
Than, i inked him using a parker pen.
Lastly, i coloured him with markers.

And there we have it!
Good O Spidey!

Here are some of the other stuff i drew:

Point Of Difference - Hillsong Utd

the tide is turning
this is redemptions hour
in the midst of a world lost for love
You are all we have now
the lost returning
salvation is all around
in the midst of the world broken down
You are all we have now
for You are God and this hope is ours
so Father open the skies
flood the earth with Your light
this is love
to break the world indifferent

our hearts are burning
a fire that won't burn out
in the midst of a world that's grown cold
You are all we have now
the earth resounding
the anthem of your reknown
as we lift up our eyes
and look to Your glory

call us out
let the world see
You are God
and this hope is ours
so call us out
let the world see
You are God, as we sing

so Father open the skies
flood the earth with Your light
this is love
to break the world indifferent
as we lift up our eyes
fill our hearts with Your fire
in a world of sin
we'll be different, the difference

our eyes are open
every chain now broken
in this world
we are different
let Your love become us
as we live to make You famous
in this world
we are different
so call us out
let the world see
You are God, as we sing

Encounterfest 2008

How impactful was that? I say very.

Change is a Constant/Unfortunately

Well, i have officially changed the blog address to nobles101.blogspot.com because i found out that kronos comes from the word cronos a greek word for or rather a name of one of their deity. So, i changed it, yet again. But this time with valid reason. Sure i liked the name kronos, but nobles will do fine.

If not, better =)

Debate Camp @ School.

The debate camp was a new experience cause i never stayed overnight in school before. This was my first time, and despite all the aches i got in the morning, i have to say it wasnt that bad, in fact it was quite good. Through the camp, (like what mr ren said) i see the different sides of my debater friends, which i guess makes us closer? i should think... Anyway..

Lets start off with Day 1.

- I arrived around 8 25am, although i was supposed to come @ 815am cause we were having a friendly match against NJC (IP) , and because we were hosting we had to get em breakfast (basic courtesy) . Anyways, XY and the rest went ahead to get it.

- Around 9.15am, the motion was released and there were 2 teams, FMSS A and FMSS B as well as NJC A and NJC B. The motion was "TH Refuse to negotiate with terrorists." Both FMSS teams were opposition. This was decided by a flip of a coin. After the rounds of debate, we met back for a debrief and we watched a model debate with Singapore against England. (Unfortunately, Singapore lost)

- By the time, everyone's stomach was calling out to them for this substance called, "food". Yes we were hungry. The teachers very kindly bought or rather 'donated' dinner, and the reason why i said 'donated' is because they paid for us. In all it was 70 bucks! Because we ate "Rite Pizza". It was good.

- Bowling time! From there we went for a game or 2 at the SuperBowl @ marina south. That was supposed to be our outdoor activity apparently. I, officially am VERY bad at bowling. This i have to admit. Almost every other turn, the ball went into the gutter. But i did get 1 strike! Which i think its pretty amazing, it must be a miracle i am telling you. and a very good one too =)
- After many unsuccessful turns, i decided to give up, i was going nowhere. At that moment, something else caught my attention. The arcade. Yes, me and michele went in. But, it was a timely moment to exercise self-control, because @ the arcade when you play, you REALLY pay. And it kinda gets really 'addictive' like you keep telling yourself "one more game". But thankfully, i stopped @ $5. Phew...

- Before we knew it, it was already 5pm. So we headed for dinner which was practically next door, because along marina south, there is this whole stretch of BBQ and steamboat restaurants. I have past by before, but i haven't really went there to eat. So it was exciting, but hurting for the pocket.. Oh well, like what mr ren said, how often do you see your fellow debators cook?? So dinner was pretty interesting, because i didnt know bertram could cook.. Oh and there was this very embarrassing thing that happened there... i shan't elaborate... Ok i shall, well XY and i were trying to get the cooked food because there was the cooked and the uncooked, and both of us couldnt take seafood, and we were hungry. While waiting for the food to cook, XY and i went to the cooked section. However we didnt want to bring our plates along.. because we thought there will be some over there. And all they had were bowls. I happily, took the bowl and scooped some french fries into it. But XY wanted a plate, so i saw some plates on the nearby tables all stacked up, and being the helpful person i am, or the 'action beh dek' i sometimes am, i tried to take one. Lo and behold, the whole stack came tumbling down. Than 2 aunties rushed over and told me i couldnt take those.. I apologized and helped to stack them back. XY and I walked off laughing....

- Still dinner time. Than we did enjoy the food to a certain extend. After eating. This happened:

It is my very own talk show with my co-host, XY! haha... Bertram edited the vid though, not bad i say..

- After we came back, we had hot showers! Haha i wish. We had cold showers, which actually wasnt that bad after your body adjusts to it. So after washing up, we watched a movie. "Facing the Giants". It really is an impactfull movie i have to say. It hits you hard.

Heres a songtrack from the movie. Basically the movie's about, this coach, whose life seems to be falling apart. But when he seeks God, truly, things start to look up for him. Really good stuff.

-Sleeping time! After having a cold shower which i haven't taken in a very long time (since my heater last spoiled) and watching the movie, we headed off to bed. Well, not exactly, bed. Sleeping-bag-on-table rather. I couldnt fall asleep until 2am +. And i discovered through my many walks around the school that at night, the school is actually very tranquil, peaceful and cooling too! I have never really saw the school so dark and quiet because most of the time its bright, noisy you know the hustle and bustle. So it was a good change to see that.

Day 2

- XY woke me up, saying something like "Hey pris, wake up, its 7, we must rearrange the tables and wash up" Somewhere along those lines.. And guess what i said in return "5 more mins" haha... i guess i did that out of habit because that is what i always say to my mom who wakes me up for school... Well old habits die hard right?

- Captains Ball! Before breakfast, we played captains ball. I really enjoyed it. The work out. I actually love playing sports just that i dont have much opportunities. We played a few games than were really bushed!

- So than came breakfast, which was noodles. Quite heavy for breakfast if you ask me, but we had no choice, dover doesnt serve porridge. By that time i was bloated. Yup but i did enjoy the food.

- After breaking our fast, (which is how breakfast came about) we had a mini debate. And the motion, THBT more money leads to more fats. When i first got it, i thought, ok.. right... er more money leads to fats?? ok... It was a good thing i wasnt speaking though. Anyway, on my team which was called 'Inky A', was Joseph, Fernando, and Michele. I was trekking, timing, and filming. Using bertrams phone.

The debate went something like this:

With Mr ren as 1st opp speaker. I didnt manage to capture 1st prop speaker, michele.

2nd prop speaker, Fernando.

2nd opp speaker, Ching Sheng. Followed by 3rd prop speaker and ex president Joseph.

3rd opp speaker, Sheng Wei

Reply speeches: Starting with Mr Ren from the opp followed by Fernando from the prop.

And thats basically how the mini debate ran, with poor Ms hia as the unofficial subject of the debate.

Overall, the debate camp was pretty fun. Really interesting. A new fresh experience.

Alright...... =)

National Treasure, Book of Secrets

The MOST anticipated movie by me, this year.

How can you not be excited?

Lights/ Camera/ Action?

Yesterday i went with my parents to do some filming. We waited forever for an airplane to arrive before my pop was hit with an "eureka" moment. After receiving that moment, we shifted position where the airplanes came really near the ground. And than we took the video.

Heres the day in motion:

The best airport in the world... (well soon to be overthrown i heard)

* For the record, i found this phone in this state. I wanted to pick it up but on 2nd thought, no, remember colin farrer in the phonebooth. Enough said.

On the way home, i took these shots in the night:

It was as though someone scribbled on the sky.

Camp @ 79.

79 is officially the best place ever! (Besides heaven, earthly speaking) We had our little sec 1 camp there, and boy i had the time of my life! It was awesome. This is what you get when you put a bunch of really crazy people, in a really cool place. You get the awesome experience. =)

Heres some highlights of the 2 days @ 79.

Day1

1. Juni and I couldn't open the door - Juni and i were the first to arrive @ 79 and we held the keys to the door, however, because the bunch of keys were, well, a bunch of keys we had to figure out which key went into the keyhole of the first door. After maybe about 15 mins, i was able to get it. ;) mainly because, i prayed. she didn't. haha. Yes prayer works.

2. Worship practice + 1st argument or disagreement - Had some problems playing together in harmony. But, still it was fun.

3. Shopping @ Vivo's Giant - Whoa, it was, really woe! man... We went there to get some BBQ stuff like charcoal (which we over bought as i predicted), grills, aluminum trays etc... Shawn,Matt, juni and i went. EVERYONE was staring at us...... and i dont blame them.

4. 12pm Cheryl! - Although the arranged time was 12pm, no one came at that time. They started pouring in around 1230pm plus... Among the invited guest, there seemed to be an outsider coming in, however, we soon realised that it was good o cheryl. You couldnt blame us cause she's changed drastically, since the time we last saw her.. Right down from her hair to her contacts.. Pretty cool if you ask me..

5. Lunch! - We didnt wait, we just started tucking in, well we did intend to, but they were all coming at different times..

6. 3-5pm - Everyone just played fuse ball, ps2, pool, jumping around..... Starting to let loose!

7. BBQ time! - BBQ was actually not bad.... on second thought, despite burning a chair (unintentionally...), over buying of food.... yeah but on the whole the food was actually not bad.

(We are sorry 79.)

8. Taboo + Fuse Ball + Pool competition! - Yup, it was competition time, but before that we played taboo. Which i took to, instantly! I think its the best game for debaters man... Heres a vid of juni explaining the rules of the game.

Be sure to watch till the end!

9. After the games, it was time for yes, worship, and guess what! At about 11.30+pm. Yup and thanks to juni who kept screaming during fuse ball, she couldnt sing anymore! Although she did get named "wayne juni" by kevinfoo! Oh wait, no that was given during winning 11 anyway we did get strepsils or rather EXTRA STRONG strepsils, it wasn't an instant remedy. So, i had to worship lead. I kinda liked the worship because it was a very loungey feeling, as if we were sitting round the camp fire because of the soft lighting.

10. PCK - After all that, we watched PCK. Really funny, PCK to me is one of the better comedies in Singapore and produced by Singapore, the rest now are like.... er, no comments.

11. Sleeping time! OR not? - Yes, after watching PCK we were SUPPOSED to sleep. Yeah, but come on who comes to a 2 day 1 night camp to sleep eh? Yup. So juni,me,van, vera and a whole lot of people kept walking around playing, just talking and stuff. Oh, we even cleaned up somemore, which was really fun, ESPECIALLY throwing rubbish. Yes, you heard we right, throwing rubbish. It was the short walk down to the green rubbish container that made it really fun. It was breezy, cool, quiet, tranquil even, away from all the 'craziness' @ 79. A short breather in short. Or rather to be precise. (just in case you don't get it) All done at different times of the day, yes, and when we couldn't sleep @ 3,00am in the morning.. So we did something constructive when we couldn't sleep. =)

Finally, we slept @ 4 something in the morning. Yup and the next day was BEACH day.
And just to add, the only one that slept right through was sarah. Yeah i dont know how she does it.

Day 2

1. Rise and shine! - We awoke, at 745am in the morning. Brushed up, changed, shivered.

2. Break-fast - We didnt really have a solid breakfast but that was ok, cause we were going to sentosa and we didnt want to throw up. So, we drank..... MILO! ( The drink for champions!)

3. Sentosa here we come. - We went there by the new train thingy, which i dont know what it is called. Sarah's mom's company had like benefits i guess, hence we didnt have to pay a single cent, free passes for everyone was available! Kind souls.

4. Beach time! - When we went there, we laid out our mat. And i have to say, Yan yi really takes on like her mom, she was really well prepared, she brought the mats, drinks, and stuff like that. Really cool stuff. Than some people went off to swim in the sea. But i couldnt i didnt have extra clothes, and the worse thing was the sea was incredible, it looked so enticing. Anyway, since i wasnt going to swim, i said, "frisbee anyone?" And soon gracie , some other people and i started to pass to each other. Than soon more people came, and there was enough to form a team. Everyone was up for a match. Guess what? some of our class people we won matches against Gracie. =) But i bet she was giving us chance lah..

In all the day was great, no, i mean AWESOME! it really was. In fact the whole camp was. Even the little so called 'fights' we had was all part of the awesome experience i will never ever forget, even if i wanted too. A pity just as soon as it had started, it ended.

Around 4-ish, after the last frisbee match, i headed back to mainland Singapore for band prac.

After band prac, i headed back to 79 to wondering if my friends were there. And they were thankfully. So, i went for dinner with Azmi, Gracie, Van, Alyssa, Matt, and myself. It wasn't too bad actually.

After the camp, i view my JY teachers differently and so do my other friends. After the camp, and because of the camp, i do see the some what passion in gracie to inspire the younger generation, although sometimes she doesnt really express it in a way you expect teachers to.

Azmi? I find him really cool, cause his actually very generous and kind in ways you dont expect. =)

So how was camp so far?

*This was taken after the BBQ dinner, when we were preparing for the games.

On the whole, they are fine =) and so was the camp.

Glory in the Highest

You are the first
You go before
You are the last
Lord, You're the encore
Your name's in lights for all to see
The starry host declare Your glory

Glory in the highest
Glory in the highest

And no one else could ever compare
To You, Lord
All the earth together declares ...
Glory in the highest ... to You, Lord

Lost - Michael Buble

Oh pls do not be alarmed Michael Buble is alived and fine, he is not lost, but it is the title of his song. I honestly find the vid boring, but i am posting it only because i get to listen to it. So do the same if you wish, or vice versa.

Band/Photos/Tamagoh

Woke up around 7-ish am in the morning, was pretty tired and lethargic, ok fine, pretty is an understatement, but band started at 8am, so i had no choice. At band, around 10.30ish, tamagoh arrived. Then we went up to a level 4 class room just like the time he was here and practiced. He showed us new tips, tricks, accents, and how important it is to practice. After the class, we headed back down to the bandroom on the 1st level. There i summed up all my courage and asked tamagoh for a shot together! Yes! Finally... Because i thought, "How often does a pro drummer teach you for free? eh?" And i already missed a chance not taking a photo with Tay Ping Hui and some other actor whose name i dont know, so i wasnt going to miss this chance. And here it is:

Hmm, it does look a little blur, doesn't it? Well, if it weren't so small it wouldn't look that bad. It actually looks good when it is on full screen surprisingly.Vera helped me with this shot. Its nice, it looks really natural.

Vera and I asked him a few questions and this is what we found out about him.
- He has 8 drumsets, each different drumset for different purposes.
- He has 1 drumset that cost, $8000+ alone.
- He is married to a singer. (This one we didn't ask, dont worry, he told us when he was showing us some pics of his drumset when it popped up by accident.)
- He has performed for many well known artist, and also for Mediacorp on the show, Singapore Idol. (Hence, he has worked with Iskanda Ismail)
- He is sponsored by Pearl drumsets, and zildjian sticks. ( Pretty cool if you ask me.. but i prefer tama and pro-mark sticks)

Now, this is what i observed about him.
- He owns a mac ibook
- He owns a black Panasonic Lumix camera.
- If you didn't know him, you would think he is a soldier. (Cause that was what i thought when i first met him, you can imagine my reaction)
- He owns a urban sling bag, that is packed with things such as he's zildjian drumsticks, practice pad, and even sometimes metronome.
- He likes to joke, but sometimes or rather alot of times we are too stiff to laugh, either that or his jokes are not funny.

Whoa.... with all my observations written there, i could be like a CSI - investigator. You really do observe alot when you pay attention.

Ok anyways, after that, band went on as per normal.

Oh, did i forget to mention that we have new practice pads, and its all thanks to mrgoh, who told the band teacher we needed proper practice pads.

I liked it so much i brought it home and gave it a name, its 03 for short.
Each one of the percussionist now has a nickname too, its after the practice pads, so like for eg: vera is 02, zara is 04. lame. yes i know, but its the lame-ness of it all that makes up the whole experience.

So after band, vera and i wanted to go to church to jam, but circumstances changed and so did our plans. In the end vera went home, and i went to home too.

While waiting for my dad, i took these pictures.

Well, now we know Ms Lim was in school today. =)
I like the vibrantness of the colour of her car, it suits her.

"boo.... to the batteries that couldn't even last more than 15mins of camera use." - the batteries get a thumbs down.

Ok theres more but i wouldn't post them all in one straight line, but its all around, i trust you will know which ones. Just enjoy em.

Anyway, things to look forward to this week:
1. Sec 1 JY camp - this fri to sat ( kinda short if you ask me, but its not easy to accommodate 15+ 13yr olds, with packed schedules thanks to CCA's and extra classes out of school. )

Er, thats all, so technically, it shouldn't be 'things' but ' thing' which sounds weird so its gonna be 'things'.

Fix You - Coldplay

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse.

When the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
"Just what your worth"

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream, down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I...

Tears stream, down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I...

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

BTTF: Vids

The first vid is kinda like a spoof, but Christopher Llyod played doc Brown and surprisingly the quality of this vid is not bad.

This vid is the best, for those who love the song 'fix you' and BTTF, this is a real treat. Its a combination of both. Its the like the best of both worlds. You get to have your cake and eat it too. :)Its good quality too. Double bonus.

And the last one is also a music vid, but of BTTF with the song 'Time of your life' by green day.

Camp/Band/uke

Yesterday, i had lunch with my friends after church at Seah Im. Like i said, the best food can be found in the so called "Dirtiest Places". It was cheap and good. We discussed the Sec 1 camp over lunch. I was the camera woman, which somehow excited me. I always loved taking photos, but more than that, capturing the moment. What i was more excited about is that i get to play the ukulele for worship which i think, well actually is unnecessary but because i was 'pleaded strongly' by my friend, and that is why i agreed. I am excited because i learned a new song on my ukulele, so now, i know how to play about 5 songs. Thats an improvement. Keeping into consideration that i taught myself how to play and only seriously started this year. Yeah, its not bad at all.

Today, i had band at 9.30am, but i arrived 1hr earlier. Yes, you heard me right i said earlier. Surprisingly, which actually isn't surprisingly anymore once you know that i came that early because my brother had track, at 8am, so he was 30mins late. Somehow, my family is not associated with punctuality. But thats okay, i am going to change that. Soon.

Oh yes.. my pop signed up for sports channels, no more hbo, but whatever, EPL here i come! P.S Chelsea is currently 3rd, just below Man Utd, and Arsenal.

*By the way there is only one of those left, but i am not telling which branch has the last piece, in case someone gets there before i do.

Check this out, How Great Is Our God, in jazz fusion.

SF in their early days

Check this out, i was youtubing and i typed "Switchfoot" into the search. Instead of clickin on the latest vids, i went onto over 20+pages. The so called "Ooh-Lu, Ooh-Lu" vids no one really watches. But i found these treasures. Its just like how the best food can be found in the so called "dirtiest" places.

SF's new way to be human.

The making of SF's single, awakening.

I didn't even know, SF sang this song. Or even existed for that matter. As in the song.

Jason Mraz - The remedy

Live at the NAMM show promoting Taylor's T5.

Tamagoh/Jammin/TheArena/Dinner.

First lemme talk about yesterday. Yesterday, our new band instructor for our section, percussion, arrived. And he was non other than the "Tamagoh"! It was really exciting and all. The reason why i placed the open and close inverted commas is because, as i found out yesterday, that "Tamagoh" is his stage name, not his real name, because he used to endorse tama drums, but now he endorses Pearl drums, or rather they sponsor him, along with zildjian. Man, someday i really wish that promark, zildjian, paiste tama, one day endorse me too! That would be sweet.... Anyway, than he shared with us many tips and his many experiences with drumming. I was like 'whoa...' After hearing what he has to say, i concluded drumming really is all about the discipline of practicing... Its something like math, whereby practice is everything.

Oh yes and before i forget, because, being me, i asked tamagoh to autograph the drum sleeves that he didnt want. So yeah. Really cool, it was a zildjian one.

So than after band, Vera,Yap and i went to eat at KFC at clementi. I actually expected my parents to disapprove, but to my surprise, they did. So yeah, its a win win situation. =) Than, we went, we ate, we enjoyed. haha. yes. After that, Vera and i took a bus to church and jammed! Boy, i must say that, that was one of thee most enjoyable and fulfilling jamming sessions i had in a long long time. Nice jammin with ya vera ;) Some other time okay? Ok than, erm yeah than my family and i went to carrefour. haha. and yes, my brother and i did what we did best there, erm, ballet. We did film it, but i decided not to show it, the concept is about the same basically.

This is vera rocking her heart out.
Ok thats enough talk about yesterday. More of today.

Gosh, where do i begin. Okay, lets start with the break of dawn, haha just kiddin.
Today, was particularly special. Today was the 2nd round of audtions for the arena. I was really excited, i don't know, but it was just the whole, you know TV thing. But dont get me wrong, pls. Ok so, the team practiced a few times, and i must say, Xing Ya's line was like really good! Like really really funny! I really enjoyed their intro, with shuan doing his snapping , ching sheng doing his Japaneses catch phrases, Robert and his animated way of talking, and finally the best and my personal favourite, xing ya's one liner! It sounded like something i would say, and it went something like this... ( Pls take in mind that Xing Ya is quite tall, oh in fact very tall for her age, shes about 1.77m? around there..) She said " Wow, my teachers and my teamates both agree, that my height matches my intelligence!" To be honest when i first heard that, i bust out laughing! I just couldnt take it. It was great.

Than it was time. Time for them to show off their 'verbal bio-technics' with flash and substances. They really did well, and impressed the judges. During the whole day today, i was grumbling, about one thing. Why didn't i bring a camera!?!?!?! Yes, it was that frustrating. Today was the perfect day for photo opportunities and i didn't bring a camera. Grrrr-eat. But never mind. I will get the vid uploaded when i ask my friend for it, cause he recorded their whole audition on his phone. ( The joy of having a camera phone. Ah....)

After watching many rounds of auditioning, it was time for the results. "Hwa Chong Institution" Loud applause and cheers were heard. "The next team, Fairfield Methodist Secondary!" This time, i screamed. It was just so overwhelming! Fairfield!?!??!!? I was more than elated. I just can't find the words right now to express. But it was awesome. God was. Is. The team went up and later did some interviews and filled out a questionnaire. We really thanked God, cause surprisingly, the teams we expected to get in, didn't.

So than to celebrate we went to eat at holland's coffee club. Boy, i must say it is really erm, lets just say that just don't go there if you have a budget. But the food was really good too, i have to say.

Overall, thats my day in words as far as i can remember. And, i really enjoyed it. Seriously.

As for the arena, in the words of Ching Sheng, "watashitachi wa kanarazu katsu da yo!" in other words, we will surely win! =)

This is what we played during band, the sesame street theme song! Yeah!

Church/Handicrafts/Dinner

The title does really sum up today. Basically thats what i did. I went to church with my dad, cause i didn't want to be left at home all alone, and than did some handicraft than had dinner than went home. I brought the laptop to church so i wouldn't get bored. There i discovered that youtube was really helpful. It was an unlimited resource of music, i listened from jonas brother's SOS to coldplay's fix you. Oh speaking of fix you, man, that song is just really good, like from the melodious lingering tune to the fierce build up. Its just really good, go listen to it.... here!

Haha sorry i just couldn't resist it. I just had to put the vid here.

So i did make like a calender for my handicraft cause i decided to do something useful with my hands. But it didnt come out the way i had planned it to, so yeah... But never mind, at least i attempted.

Its amazing how, like when you are in school, you have so many things to do that, sometimes it just overwhelms you. But than, when it comes to the holidays, there is just nothing to do!

And than, when the holidays are about to end, you just start to really enjoy them.
Never mind, i will make FULL use of my holidays to do what i set out to do.
