Okay firstly, photos, so not in order. I am too lazy to arrange em. Alrighty, well recently we went to Furama for dinner. It was alright and than after that we headed to Labrador Park for a breather.
*Oh and credits go to my pop's new Lumix camera he got for Father's Day.
Anyways since we're on the topic of pictures, lemme show you this i got from browsing through blogs.
Pretty neat eh? I thought it was.' Got it from some industrial designer guy's blog, and he didnt speak english. That was why i 'ripped' it from someone's blog and placed em here.
Oh this is funny, here nat is trying to do my math homework. And so, she thinks.
And thinks.....
And thinks....
And than, she really thinks....
But.. in the end, she gave up and ended her thinking stance with the rubbing of eyes. With zero results. (haha...but her effort was well appreciated because at least she did try.)
And so we spent the after hours @ 79 studying. And talking. And studying. No but more of talking. At least I did most of the talking, which is precisely why you can't place me with others to study, because i just end up talking. In disbelief? Just ask nat. She'll know. After many failed attempts to concetrate and study, nat finally came up with a brilliant plan. She left the room and went outside. Great choice and decision, because after she did that, i really got down to studying and soon, gained the momentum. Well, overall i could say that i had fun. Even though we ate instant noodles for lunch and lychee juice to go with it...
I was watching Mr Bean's Holiday and interestingly, I am starting to develop an interest in French music. Somehow it gives you a pleasant ambiance feeling to it, its the care-free-ness, relaxed, laidback sound that i love.
Anyways, NBC (National Band Competition) is exactly 21 more days away. Yup, NBC's on the 13th July, Sunday. We will be playing 2 songs, Ka ze no mai (Dance of the wind) and United Nations March. For Ka ze no mai, i am playing the claves, suspendered cymbal and the sleigh bells. For the United Nations March, i am playing the TIMPANI! (This i find quite exciting...)
Heres the full Ka ze no mai song, i recorded using my mobile phone. Its all of 5 min 32 sec. However, the whole trumpet section was missing, hence the 'emptiness'
(Oopsy, i am sorry, the imeem website is currently down by when its fixed i'll upload the song right here.)
How quick the days come and go... Tomorrow is monday. Monday = To school. SIGH. I am sure i am not the only one who feels this way. But at the same time, i have a little excitement brewing in me. The kind that looks forward to calling your classmates those silly names you have for em.
Oh well, i guess all good things have to come to an end, whether we like it or not. But i have one thing to be thankful for, this holiday was fun. Oh yes, indeed it was, a good time of relaxing and at the same time, many of my days were often packed with activities so as to keep me as far from this horrid 'thing' called "BOREDOM".
It has been indeed been a SHORT holiday PACKED with LOTS of activities. But.... I shan't ruin it by complaining here... No, of course not.
Well, alright lets take it back to the start shall we? No of course not silly, we arent going all the way back to May something something, when the holidays just started. But we are going to talk about the 79 sec 2 camp.
It was....phenomenal. Oh i am sorry, i don't know why but i just keep saying the p word. Phenomenal. Well technically, to me the 2nd day was really GOOD. And i mean REALLY GOOD. Like i really really mean REALLY GOOD.
We went to sentosa to get cooked, and burnt and roasted under the lovely huge burning rock called the "SUN". It was.... phenomenal. Oops, theres that word again... sigh, terrible really my dear friends. We went there to play this game starting with 'F' called frisbee. It was fun. Haha, F-un, F-risbee. Get it? Yes? No? Maybe so.
Its strange, theres just something about frisbee, that makes you like your friends better or maybe its better known as BONDING.
oh kay... This post is taking way too long because i keep talking to nat the bat who has a mighty SUNBURN. Hmmm oh yes, speaking of sunburn's i have a MIGHTY nice one on my face which i call the "Healthy Glow". And apparently, people are so jealous they call me other well, not so gratifying names. Oh well, what can you do eh?
Well well well.... thats all for now than. haha, i am so sorry, i just keep talking to my friends in cyber space i have ZERO concentration for this. BUT never give up hope, I'll be back.
SOOOOOON. ;)

This is by the up and coming "ALPHABEAT". I love the way they bring back retro chic, not just in their upbeat tunes but also in their dressing. How awesome is that eh?
I don't know about you, but somehow when i listen to em more and more they remind me of mika, a bright, fresh, new sound.
Go check em out for yourself! www.thisisalphabeat.com
Aww.... Don't you just feel good when someone says something good about you? I know i do. Today, after church, i spent my lunching hours with Nat, good ol Nat, just like good ol' times. We ate at pastamania which BURNT a hole in my pocket, i ate a 10 inch pizza. Hmm which wasnt too bad, but it had alot of oil, sadly, so after that i felt really fat. Yup, oh we also met Jay and Joel and quite alot of church people there. Interesting.... Okay maybe not really but yeah.
Next week, which starts tomorrow, is going to be hectic and sad because i have to go back to school for CCA. Band: 845am-1pm. (Yes... A STAGGERING 4hrs and 15mins.......) Oh and it isnt just one day my friend, its 3 days a week.
Anyways, anyways, The Trouve's are also planning a photoshoot sometime this week, now thats something to look forward to. ;)
This whole week, have spent 3 days in church with nat, (well actually no, church's studio, v'asia.) jammin, writing new songs and just letting the musical genius in us take hold.
Today, i learn some very important lessons: 1. Honesty, honestly, is the best policy. 2. Never eat too much sour skittles.
I like to talk about the second one more, because it was really a painfully lesson i learned the hard way. You see i went to Esso to get me a packet of sweets and ended buying 'sour skittles'. Whoa. Boy did i learned the hard way. I did not see the small fine print which stated "May cause slight tongue irritation if taken in excessively." I was like well thanks for the heads up, NOT. Thanks to the excessive intake of sour skittles i ended up having dire-rear (which i obviously cant spell) or aka 'lao sai', oh but as if burning my, er butt wasnt bad enough it had to burn my tongue. So now, lets just say, i have 2 sore areas.
On the first point, me and Nat have came to a consensus. Well, sort of. I think. We both want to make music that counts, that has an impact, that will change the way people think and we won't make one hit wonders that are easily made, easily forgotten. We believe with the right attitude and heart, we can use music to change the world and every little bit and part counts. Oh and really its so much easier when you can just say what you want and really how you feel and not be afraid of what that person is going to say or think about you. Makes the whole process so much easier.
Having said that, here's what we have come up so far. Enjoy! And feel free to comment, constructively. (thanks! in advance) Oh and if you wonder where theres no drums, its because our drummer is kinda busy, but we understand, so for these 2 songs, we took a more acoustic-sound approach to it.
If you find the lyrics a bit too meaningless or inky, well so do I, I am thinkin of changing some actually.
Nat composed Late August and i composed Harmonizing tonight.
Nat: Main vocals. Pris: Piano, uke, background(harmony) vocals.
Oh and remember the last time i told you to never forget the name, NPV, okay well you can forget it, because now, we are The Trouve's. I am not sure if thats official but its for now. Oh and Trouve basically means "found" in french. Yup.....
Today was exceptionally, strangely, unexpectedly, FUN.
It all started....... When i met Nat, at the habour front bus terminal at about 1130pm.... After walking round vivo for about 5 mins, we settled down for a little meal at the King of the Burgers, or better known as Burger King. I ate this Hersey's chocolate pie thing and barley (oh no i didn't eat barley, barley was my drink..) , while nat ate onion rings with ice milo.
Than after that we finished eating and than walked around somemore, went into a few shops like pull and bear, esprit, topshop and blah blah blah... But we always came out empty handed. =) Wondering if we had good self control? nah, we just didnt have money..... heheh.
Alright so at about 1.30pm we returned to church, sat on the office couch, listened to some music, while not to mention, embarrassing ourselves in the process by talking VERY LOUDLY because we couldnt hear ourselves. Oh well, it was all done in good will, and fun.
After waiting for what seemed like an eternity..... It was finally 2pm. Just after 2pm, we than received a call from Mervin to head down to the studio because he was already there. We excitedly left the building and went to the studio.
At first, things were a bit you know static, very stale because everyone was like adjusting to the whole jamming, expressing-your-self-on-instrument, thing. But after Mervin and Willie left, we went absolutely, NUTS. Maybe it was because of the pressure of 2 great, phenomenal players that we didnt dare do anything...
To be honest, i thought when we jammed it was gonna be boring and Nat would get left out, but lo and behold, the exact opposite happened! We jammed most bonkers-ly (in a good way, of course...) and nat was SO involved. From oldies like shi-boom shi-boom,to the electrifying sound of coldplay's clocks. We jammed alright. We even recorded always various times using each others phone and what was cool was that our positions in the 'band' changed quite constantly, like nat would sometimes play the piano or sing, and....we took turns i guess to produce the best sound possible for the 'band'. Oh and the 'band' i am referring to is THE NEXT BIG THING CALLED, NPV (which basically stands for Nat,Pris,Vera.) How cool is that right? Oh yeah, cool alright.
Oh and than, what was even cooler was that me and nat being the 'main songwriters' of the 'band', we changed the lyrics to clocks. Interesting really, it is. You should hear it, in fact you shall.
Oh but this isnt a video, its just purely audio and raw.
Nat: Vocals Pris: Piano (me) Vera: Drums.
And... Viola! There you have it! A 3 piece, future grammy award winning band, called the NPV.
Ahh...... The feeling of the fingers touching the keyboard while interacting with the REST of the world sure does feel good. You see my internet connection has been down for a few days, or more specifically 4 days. A good 4 days, or rather a bad 4 days without the internet. From this i realized how important the internet really is and how we really use it so often we sometimes take it for granted.
Anyways, check out Coldplay's latest single, i got it in my phone cause i downloaded for free when coldplay put it up on their website for a window of time. If you missed it, theres still youtube. Ah there, the beautiful of the net. =)
I love the last part, where the music dies down and all thats left is Chris Martin's voice singing,
" I took my love down to Violet Hill There we sat in snow All that time she was silent still
