150th Post and Oh no i think i am losing it....

Well, so its my 150th post for my blog!
Not bad , not too bad.
Oh yes which reminds me, speaking of big numbers in their 100ths,
My school is 120 this friday.
Well i am not sure if that is the actual date but at least thats when we will be celebating her birthday.
Wow, thats really old, you know what i mean?
A HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS OLD.
I mean how many of us can say we will live that long?
But than again its a school, not a person.
Having said that, i just realised that it is so old its older than Singapore.
(yes the country the school is in...)
Singapore's only 43 this year i think.
Yeah should be.
Wow shes in her prime man...

Anyways, as for the "Oh no i am losing it" thing on my title,
well, i think i am losing my abilities and 'powers' to blog.
Or even, write the way like i used to!
Oh this is sad, its like a tragedy man.

So i am here to redeem myself, to reinstall my confidence in my writing..

Hmm... well lets start off by recounting today's events.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Well, nothing much really happened, just school.
More school,
than there was school,
oh and even more school.
Than.....
Yeah, basicaly we had school.

So as you could have tell by now today was a school day.
Normally you don't go typing on your blog or tellin everyone about your school day.
(Unless something really funny or memorable happened, i guess, other than that...)
School days are always like this:
Q: "How was school today?"
A: "Oh, it was okay."

Yup, they are always a mere 'okay'.

Oh but sometimes, after that conversation takes place,
a few seconds later you go "Oh yes, today....blah blah blah.."
And than you start rattling off about how you fell down but had this amazing ability to not get hurt in the process or something.

Check this out, this was taken to break a national record.
Not too sure what the record was about but we did manage to break it.
This happened this year in conjunction with the school celebrating its 120th birthday.

Together with the primary school, we formed the human badge.
If you wanna know how 4500 people look like,
Here it is.
If you look really carefully you can see me.
But you have to double click on the picture to enlarge it.
I am at the left star, 4th edge of it from the top counting clockwise.

Anyways, these are the 'events' coming up on my calender:

Friday
- Normal School day.
- 120th school celebration @ 545pm.

Saturday
- Movie Screening @ Church rooftop. 6pm. (i think, not sure if i am going.)

Sunday
- Church.

Hmm.... just realised there are alot of numbers in this post.

"When Time and Space are through, I'll be found in You.."
Oh my golly, i can't get enough of this song, its so good.
Like, its really really good.
Awesome stuff, keep listening.
Its by the same songwriter & singer who wrote and sang "Hosanna".
She's launched her own album, really good stuff.
Should go get a copy.

Won't regret it,
I know i didn't.

Updates! They make you go Up.

Hey there all you people who are reading this now,
Its Update time!
Update times are always good times.
So, If you have been observant enough you would have realized,
that i added quite a bit new stuff or what we call, 'widgets' @ the side bar ------>
And if you haven't been observant enough, than this post is meant for you.
Enjoy checking out the new stuff, and don't worry there will be more to come.
Soon......

So keep waiting & hanging on for that.

Goodnight fellow human beings, its time to hit the sack for me.

Technorati - Blog Directory.

Hi again, just got back from Frisbee/volleyball.
(okay at least we tried to play, as in volleyball, but it didnt really work out, but i really want to learn, its kinda fun and i am inspired by the current channel 8, 9o clock show..)

It was okay, i guess.
It rained and we played.
It stopped raining, and we still played.

JFYI (which stands for Just for Your Infomation)
West Coast Park on Saturdays can be quite crowded,
but since this was during a school term, it wasn't that crowded.
I guess the crowd went over to vivo and town.
Which goes to show, that most people think shopping is the best way to cure stress.
Well, i am not too sure of that, cause i do enjoy shopping too, but 'best' way to cure stress? Hmm... thats a tough one.

Anyways, the point of this post is to tell you about something i find, quite, EXCITING.
It all started when i was bored, this afternoon before i set off to WCP,
when i was using the computer.
I stared @ a google page.
Not knowing what to search for.
And so i typed this in "dirty2ndhands".
Lo and Behold, there were results for my search!
FASCINATING.
I was clearly pleasantly, surprised.

And thats not all,
The best part was that i found this site.
And this site, is no ordinary site, this site is 'Technorati".
And Technorati, JFYI, is a blog directory as well as a site that RANKS your blog.
Ooh. Wondered what i got?
Well, than you have to click on the this site to find out.

Lazy people read on.
Okay, if you're lazy and do not wish to click on the this site, or love my blog too much that you can't bear to get linked away, than... read on.

This blog, dirty2ndhands.blogspot.com is ranked.....
(drum roll if you may please..........)

2,597,448th!

Okay, (for the math, ill-literate) it reads...
Two Million, five hundred and ninty siven thousand, four hundred and forty eight.

Wow.
Right?
Yup, okay even though the number is quite huge, but still....
Come on, there are aprroximately 4 billion people in the world now,
Lets assume 1/4 of em keeps a blog.
That would be... hmm lemme do the math....
1 billion bloggers.
Now out of 1 billion, my blog is ranked, 2,597,448th in the world!

Ah... so now you're starting to get it.
Wow.

Not bad...
Yes i know!
I was quite excited,
but i hope i will rise through the ranks eventually till i am.....
1st!

(heheh)
Well, people can dream can't they? ;)
I know i always do.

Mac/Frisbee - fun?

Oh hello there.
Why mac you might think? Oh no i am not going to own one.
But my brother does, and i am using it while he is taking an afternoon shower.
Hence, i have to be swift and deft (or so i am taught in my spelling test) about it.

First time i am posting USING a Mac.
Lemme just say its quite the experience.

Its not too bad i must say once you have gotten use to it.

Today, i have an appointment @ 4pm.
Gonna play frisbee with my church mates,
its like a girls ministry thing, and they call it.....(are you ready for it?)
They call it "Spikenardz".
Actually i find it rather interesting. As in the name.
I hope the actual event and activity will be fun.
But to be honest, right now, at this current moment i don't feel like going.
I feel so slug-ish, and rather bored.
Its strange how you can feel bored and want to make un-bored yourself, only to find out,
you're too lazy to.
One word - Slug-ish.

Anyways yesterday didnt feel like it was a friday.
I don't know why. But it just didnt.
Hmmm... maybe its because this week i had the whole week of band (CCA).
And no.. i did not pon-tanged it.
It was a holiday for us because we did well in NBC and trained so hard before that.
But band resumes as per normal next week. - kinda not mind actually.
Cause i am not used to havin so much free time on my hands.

I really hope later is going to be fun. I really hope so.

Oh yes and today, i woke up @6am in the morning.
Than fell back to sleep again.
After which i must've slept for another 3 hours or so before i finally woke up around....
9am.
Than, i lazed in bed for about an hour and a half before really getting up.
I was awoken the second time round by a message.
An Unusual Message, so to speak.
It was from a number i did not have on my phone.
It was from the dental clinic, reminding me i had an appointment on Monday.
Well, how's that strange?
Ah-ha, but you see the 'strange' part was that the number that sent it to me was a Handphone number.
So i am thinking that my dentist, herself, messaged me.
Wow.
Talk about being "on" the ball.
Not too bad.
Either that, or she just thinks that i am forgetful, which is somewhat true and untrue.
I can be at times but not all the time.
Anyways the cool thing is that if that really was the dentist,
i've got her number now. ;)
(heheheh, not too bad at all...)

Alrighty than, enough of the chatter, i wanna show you something.

From Coldplay's new album "Viva La Vida or Death and all his friends."
This song is titled "Viva La Vida" - same title as the album.
Its REALLY GOOD. As in the album and all its songs.
The first song, is like an introduction to the album and its purely instrumental,
and it prepares you for what the album is going to song like.
Such a fresh approach to it and at the same time retaining their signature melancholic sounds.
Mixing Electronic beats with Melancholy, Genius. Pure Genius.

Better go get yourself a copy of the CD!
Thats all from me for now.

Ciao!

NBC GOLD!

Whoa... haven't blogged in a long while. BUT i have a reason, a perfectly good reason. I have been really really busy lately. NBC was last Sunday, which we won a GOLD!!!! And which i will elaborate more on later. Than last saturday i had this"Poetry Slam" competition in which i was utterly humiliated, and SHAN'T elaborate more on later. Well, actually i have alot of things to talk about, hmm but lets see if i remember to talk about em.

Firstly, NBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay for the majority who do not know, NBC stands for National Band Competition, its the 2nd most prestigious competition for school bands. Thank God we were awarded a GOLD!
A raw score of 84.7/100, making us the 2nd in your division. We were __ THIS close to distinction, a mere 0.3 away..... Only 1 band got Gold with distinction in our division, Anglican High.
Hmm not bad, but... we'll be better the next time round!

This is the percussion section of Fairfield Methodist Secondary School,
awaiting the results in the band room.

As you can see the anticipation.....

(okay so maybe not...)

Or they just have weird ways of expressing anxiety.....

Okay, just to clear up the misconceptions, brain and i do NOT have the same pair of
sunglasses, i just lend it to him, just for kicks.

There! Finally! S.U.P! The BEST section in the world, ever!
AND may i add, the FUNNEST section ever! We do all the stupid funny stuff and ALSO,
ALSO, we can play too.
So our motto?
"Can slack, but must be able to play.." - as stated by Nathaniel Ghui ex-section leader of percussion, 2007-2008.

Okay, so the order of the day was...

We arrived @ school on Sunday, 13th July, at an unearthly hour of 0700hours.
And surprisingly i wasnt late. I think so.. Yeah should be.
So we tuned our instruments and everything... As per normal.

(Lets fast forward)

When we arrived there, we were led to this room which is called a tuning room tune,
and play for awhile before we got on stage.
I was SO nervous, but it was at the same time, exciting. Really exciting.

Finally it was our turn. We went on stage.

It happened, so fast.
Everything did.

And than, it was all over, everything that we practised for...
Its funny how you practise so hard for months when the actual things takes merely,
10mins.

But it was ALL worth it.

FSB got GOLD with a raw score of 84.7!!!!!
Thank God really. We did make a few mistakes and hence it was TOTALLY unexpected!
We thought the most we were going to get was a silver! And the least? COP - Certificate of Participation. (haha!) but thank God, we didn't.

You should have seen us, especially the percussion section, we were so happy we were jumping and screaming like mad dogs. "GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and especially since Brian was still hobbling along with crutches he screamed "BAI CAR GOT GOLD!!!!!" (hahah) it really was hilarious!
Hilariously good.

Though i was happy, or overjoyed, it was a bittersweet kind of thing.
Because after NBC, the seniors will not be coming to band anymore, and as you all know,
band without the seniors = boring!

Oh well, at least it was fun while it lasted, and i will never forget em. EVER.
How could I? When i intend to invite em to my wedding next time when i hold it, here?

Anyways.. i got to go now. Its late and i am awfully tired.
But before i leave......

FAIRFIELD SYMPHONIC BAND!
The Champions of the World!
