For the French, or the bilingualist.
Aww.... Don't you just feel good when someone says something good about you?
I know i do. Today, after church, i spent my lunching hours with Nat, good ol Nat, just like good ol' times. We ate at pastamania which BURNT a hole in my pocket, i ate a 10 inch pizza.
Hmm which wasnt too bad, but it had alot of oil, sadly, so after that i felt really fat. Yup, oh we also met Jay and Joel and quite alot of church people there. Interesting.... Okay maybe not really but yeah.
Next week, which starts tomorrow, is going to be hectic and sad because i have to go back to school for CCA.
Band: 845am-1pm. (Yes... A STAGGERING 4hrs and 15mins.......)
Oh and it isnt just one day my friend, its 3 days a week.
Anyways, anyways, The Trouve's are also planning a photoshoot sometime this week,
now thats something to look forward to. ;)
Have a pleasant week!
Ciao~

Studio, Studio, Church and The Trouve's.

(Guess whose she spying on?)

(ME!!!!)

This whole week, have spent 3 days in church with nat, (well actually no, church's studio, v'asia.) jammin, writing new songs and just letting the musical genius in us take hold.
Today, i learn some very important lessons:
1. Honesty, honestly, is the best policy.
2. Never eat too much sour skittles.
I like to talk about the second one more, because it was really a painfully lesson i learned the hard way. You see i went to Esso to get me a packet of sweets and ended buying 'sour skittles'. Whoa.
Boy did i learned the hard way. I did not see the small fine print which stated "May cause slight tongue irritation if taken in excessively." I was like well thanks for the heads up, NOT. Thanks to the excessive intake of sour skittles i ended up having dire-rear (which i obviously cant spell) or aka 'lao sai', oh but as if burning my, er butt wasnt bad enough it had to burn my tongue. So now, lets just say, i have 2 sore areas.
On the first point, me and Nat have came to a consensus. Well, sort of. I think.
We both want to make music that counts, that has an impact, that will change the way people think and we won't make one hit wonders that are easily made, easily forgotten. We believe with the right attitude and heart, we can use music to change the world and every little bit and part counts. Oh and really its so much easier when you can just say what you want and really how you feel and not be afraid of what that person is going to say or think about you. Makes the whole process so much easier.
Having said that, here's what we have come up so far. Enjoy!
And feel free to comment, constructively. (thanks! in advance)
Oh and if you wonder where theres no drums, its because our drummer is kinda busy, but we understand, so for these 2 songs, we took a more acoustic-sound approach to it.
If you find the lyrics a bit too meaningless or inky, well so do I,
I am thinkin of changing some actually.
Nat composed Late August and i composed Harmonizing tonight.
Nat: Main vocals.
Pris: Piano, uke, background(harmony) vocals.
Oh and remember the last time i told you to never forget the name, NPV, okay well you can forget it, because now, we are The Trouve's. I am not sure if thats official but its for now.
Oh and Trouve basically means "found" in french.
Yup.....
So, don't you ever forget...... The Trouve's.

NPV, the next BIG thing.
It all started.......
When i met Nat, at the habour front bus terminal at about 1130pm....
After walking round vivo for about 5 mins, we settled down for a little meal at the King of the Burgers, or better known as Burger King. I ate this Hersey's chocolate pie thing and barley (oh no i didn't eat barley, barley was my drink..) , while nat ate onion rings with ice milo.
Than after that we finished eating and than walked around somemore, went into a few shops like pull and bear, esprit, topshop and blah blah blah... But we always came out empty handed. =) Wondering if we had good self control? nah, we just didnt have money..... heheh.
Alright so at about 1.30pm we returned to church, sat on the office couch, listened to some music, while not to mention, embarrassing ourselves in the process by talking VERY LOUDLY because we couldnt hear ourselves. Oh well, it was all done in good will, and fun.
After waiting for what seemed like an eternity..... It was finally 2pm.
Just after 2pm, we than received a call from Mervin to head down to the studio because he was already there. We excitedly left the building and went to the studio.
At first, things were a bit you know static, very stale because everyone was like adjusting to the whole jamming, expressing-your-self-on-instrument, thing. But after Mervin and Willie left, we went absolutely, NUTS. Maybe it was because of the pressure of 2 great, phenomenal players that we didnt dare do anything...
To be honest, i thought when we jammed it was gonna be boring and Nat would get left out, but lo and behold, the exact opposite happened! We jammed most bonkers-ly (in a good way, of course...) and nat was SO involved. From oldies like shi-boom shi-boom,to the electrifying sound of coldplay's clocks. We jammed alright. We even recorded always various times using each others phone and what was cool was that our positions in the 'band' changed quite constantly, like nat would sometimes play the piano or sing, and....we took turns i guess to produce the best sound possible for the 'band'. Oh and the 'band' i am referring to is THE NEXT BIG THING CALLED, NPV (which basically stands for Nat,Pris,Vera.) How cool is that right? Oh yeah, cool alright.
Oh and than, what was even cooler was that me and nat being the 'main songwriters' of the 'band', we changed the lyrics to clocks. Interesting really, it is. You should hear it, in fact you shall.
Oh but this isnt a video, its just purely audio and raw.
Nat: Vocals
Pris: Piano (me)
Vera: Drums.
And... Viola!
There you have it!
A 3 piece, future grammy award winning band, called the NPV.
Don't you dare forget the name.....

Coldplay - Violet Hill.
Anyways, check out Coldplay's latest single, i got it in my phone cause i downloaded for free when coldplay put it up on their website for a window of time. If you missed it, theres still youtube. Ah there, the beautiful of the net. =)
I love the last part, where the music dies down and all thats left is Chris Martin's voice singing,
" I took my love down to Violet Hill
There we sat in snow
All that time she was silent still
So if you love me
Won't you let me know?
If you love me,
Won't you let me know?"

An Anecdot.
One day, a man went to visit a church. He arrived early, parked his car, and got out.
Another car pulled up near him, and the driver told him, "I always park there.
You took my place!"
The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat, and sat down.
A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That's my seat! You took my place!"
The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.
After Sunday School, the visitor went into the church sanctuary and sat down.
Another member walked up to him and said, "That's where I always sit. You took my place!"
The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still said nothing.
Later, as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood, and his appearance began to change.
Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet.
Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, "What happened to you?"
The visitor replied, "I took your place."
When i first read this i paused for 3 sec, and than i realised and understood what it meant. Interesting really how we still can be who we are, when He has died to make us who we aren't but was meant to be.

Er huh.... yeah..... right.... of course!
long time since i last blogged. Well, i have been busy with the exams and all, and than the post-exams and all, which meant getting my results back, crying, smiling, muling over them.
But overall, thank God, i did well. Better, i would say.
Speaking of not blogging for a very long time, well frankly, i havent even been using the
computer for a very long time for that matter. First there was this Sec 2 level camp, which was...
well.... okay, i guess and than after that.... hmmm what did i have after that?
oh well... in any case, i am back. =) so hip hip hooray right? no? fine.
Hmmm... lets see, what are the latest updates... oh yes for starters i've got a new phone.
Which was also one of the key reasons why i neglected blogging. Yes i admit, i neglected it,
but only for a while, only for a bit. Come on, i'll never abandon this blog, yeah of course not.
The phones an Xpress music nokia phone, the sliding one (mainly i chose this over the non sliding because it was cooler, and OBVIOUSLY you can well, 'action'-'action' and bit when someone has
called you and you slide it out of your pocket with much ease, elegance and poise.)
It is a 5610. Not bad i would say, minus the fact that it hangs and goes a bit hay wire from
time to time, but other than that, its fine. =)
Pictures are.... not too bad, i would almost say i could take AWARD WINNING photos with em.

]Ok so, maybe their not award winning but rather random shots, but hey!
Theres art even in the randomity of it all! You never know.
Anyways, besides that, i also came up with my very first and own, original LAME joke.
Yes, i admit and caution those who are allergic to lame-ee-air-lee-ty, to skip this part.
Alright, so dont say i didnt warn you.....
When i was trying to solve a math problem late last night, i came up with this:
"why can't you put 4 and 0 together to make it work?"
Nope, thats not it.
Nope thats not it either.
Give up?
or rather Given up?
Alright i'll tell you the answer.
"Because it is forty! (faulty)"
ahhhh- hahhahahahahahahhahahhahaha.
ok lame.
But come on, you HAVE to admit, it was good and original.
And you know what, i will send it in to the Reader's Digest and try to earn myself a good
100 bucks. Who knows, i may actually get to win it. ;)
Till i win my 100 bucks,
Priscilla Lim.

JG B division champions = Fairfield Methodist!

And finally after the long hard fought battle, we won.

(Past and Present Debaters of FMSS)
Fairfield Methodist Secondary School, CHAMPIONS of the WORLD!
Okay maybe not the world, but CHAMPIONS of the JG's B division!
(Well, it felt like the world... at least to me it did...)
It was an awesome day on the 18th April 2008! Fairfield conquered fellow students from SJ(International) in a war of words. Yup, We won the Debate.
On that evening, the motion being debated was "THW Boycott the Beijing Olympics."
Fairfield being the Proposition and obviously SJI being the opposition.
When the results was being announced you could feel the tension in the air....
Like literally....
Than, they had announced that the 2nd speaker from SJI was the best speaker....
and normally the best speaker went to the winning team....
BUT.
This wasn't normally,
This was extra ordinary,
"And the winning team for the B divison Julia Gabriel's Singapore Secondary Schools
Debating championships is....... FAIRFIELD METHODIST!"
I instantly LEAPT out of my seat.
You have no idea how happy i was, and to say that i was happy was an understatement in itself.
Watching the team practice practice and practice, they really did deserve to win.
It was really really a very close round with the decision being 3 votes against 2 votes
coming out from the 5 judges.
Thanks God! That 3 votes belonged to us.
What also impressed me was to find that not only Mr.Owyong and Ms Wong came to support
us but also Ms Lim! Yes! Ms Elaine Lim actually came down to support us!
I was pleasantly surprised in a good way.
All in all i had a great time, although i had to miss seeing my dad off at the airport
because he was going on a mission trip but its alright, at least i got to talk to him before
he boarded the plane... So its cool.
Oh and one last thing,
To God be the Glory!

Randomous:
Firstly, my sunday school class held this party for our leader
who in turn wasn't even in Singapore.
How nice. We celebrated a party without the birthday girl.
So we stuff ourselves with food and i 'da-bao-ed' a ruffles
chips packet home. hehe. (that i have to say is, not bad actually.. it was the original flavour and because i had a sore throat, i made the excuse that the salt was killing all the bacteria down there ;)
After that we played a little frisbee (which i brought along... thankfully) and that was fun.
Well for a while i guess, cause after we got bored again.
I don't know but like for today, all the conversations i had with my friends were also
very meaningless and half the time we were like "what?" or "what did you say?" which
all added up to, me calling today the 13th of april, 'loser day'.
Anyways i was looking through my camera and i realised that i hadn't uploaded the
pics and vids for a very long time because my camera was loaded with pictures and
videos. Some of which really interested me.
For example this:
Oh oh! Yes and may i like to add that FAIRFIELD has made it into the FINALS
of the Singapore Secondary Schools National Debating Championships!! (or JG;'s for short) Whee.....Thank God for that!
Okay sorry, er, now back to the example of some pictures and vidoes that interested me:
Oh dear.... what tragedy!
While uploading the pics and vids onto the comp, i accidentally deleted 3/4 of the pics.
And hence, in the process deleting the funny vids of me and vera jammin!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
How loser can today get?
oh, i forgot.
Today's Loser Day.
What i could i expect?
Sigh.

THE ARENA
WHICH IS THE 14th APRIL.
8PM. ONLY ON CHANNEL 5.
FAIRFIELD METHODIST V.S NANYANG GIRLS HIGH.
Be there or be square.
Short update. / Tall update.
Warning.
Anyways, whatever..
Good news everyone! (okay, maybe only for me but....)
I grew a cm!
Well today we had PE and we took our weight and height.
Weight wise i was the same, uh hum....
But height wise i grew a cm!
I am now officially 1.69m or 169cm.
Okay, thats all!
And until i have newsworthy news to share with you.....
(Not that this was anything newsworthy but yeah...)
ta-ta.
The Death of Tom Robinson.
THE DEATH OF TOM ROBINSON.
I stood alone with nobody to call my own.
I was being prosecuted by the whites,
Which of whom hated my sight.
Where did I go wrong?
I was merely walking along,
When Miss Mayella called me out from a distance,
Where I could hear her for an instance.
I rendered my service and even my pride,
But instead I got taken on a big fat ride.
What a fool I was!
Without a reason or a cause.
I thought the good got rewarded?
But surely in this case I didn’t get applauded.
So this rhyme is to show,
That being helpful is like a mole.
Into an all time new low.
Sec 2A (27)
For those of you who have read the critically acclaimed book "To Kill a Mockingbird" than you should know what i am talking about. Tom Robinson was a black man who was put to death unjustly and basically because the town was prejudiced.
This is a poem i came up for my Literature assignment, hope you have enjoyed it as much
as i had fun writing it.
=)

The Greatest Heresy in the Christian American History is.........
Are you a genuine Christian?
No.... seriously... Are you?
I don't know about you, but this really woke me up.
And i hope it will for you too.
