I went to the airport to see my China friends off, but....
They went in super early and by the time i got there, they were all... away

If This Doesn't Crack You Up, I Don't Know What Will:

Presenting the farting edition of High School Musical!

Ah.... Now wasn't that a relieve?

;)

This Reminded Me of My Ex- History Teacher:

Apparently its a book i saw on boing boing.

Mix & Match #1!

Clothes by Forever 21.
Awesome stuff.

Great is Thy Faithfulness!

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

The Definition of Mercy Please...

A mother once approached Napoleon seeking a pardon for her son. The emperor replied that the young man had committed a certain offense twice and justice demanded death.

"But I don't ask for justice," the mother explained. "I plead for mercy."

"But your son does not deserve mercy," Napoleon replied.

"Sir," the woman cried, "it would not be mercy if he deserved it, and mercy is all I ask for."

"Well, then," the emperor said, "I will have mercy." And he spared the woman's son.

Friday's fashion.

(The young & the fashionable in Paris)

Ahhhhh........
So FINALLY the tests are ALL over!
Yup, today is Friday which is the end of a school week AND more importantly
it is also the end of this week's tests!
Yippeee.

Oh but the doing the tests is one thing,
Getting back and achieving the right results is another.

Case in point.
I got back my history test i took last week (i think...) and oohh boy, not good.
I scored a depressing 10/20 marks. Yes i know i passed. (only 9 in class did.)
But passing is not what i am aiming for.
Distinction is what i am aiming for and what i should be achieving.
Hello?! If not, how else am i going to get into the double science class next year??
Sigh.
So much for the earlier 'yippeee!'.

But i know am to blame and not anybody else even though i am tempted to blame
Mediacorp for broadcasting ENTICINGLY good channel 8 TV shows during the exam period
Almost all the time!
Its pure torture and temptation i tell you.
Torture if i am not able to watch it.
And temptation when i am not watching it, but am supposed to be studying.
Oh well, got to remind myself, self-control, priorities, self-control,priorities, self-ooh look Fann Wong's gonna take some sleeping pills.
See. That always happens.

Anyways, i guess i will just have to try.
Try even harder.

Moving on, i have more exciting things to share with you.
And no.. it's not another embarrassing story about how being tall really isn't all that good.
Its about this.
A blog about fashion.
I am not sure why, but lately i am have been quite interested in fashion and clothes and all that..
Somehow, it... you could say it fascinates me.
Or rather it interests me.

So go check that out while you and i go unwind during the weekend.
Okay maybe not you and i (whoever you may be), go you know together to unwind and.......
Yeah. You get my point. (hopefully...)

Test Test Test.... tsk.

And so.. this whole week has been nothing but test test test and oh yes, more tests!
It was horrible. It still is, considering the week hasn't ended yet.
Its still Thursday, tomorrow's Friday (er obviously, pris) and i have a math test.
Yes, a math test.
To be honest, i am quite concern for my math.
It seems to be going downward, spiraling down to DOOM!
Sigh.
Oh well, i think the cause is quite obvious.

I am here, instead of at the books.

Anyways....... Life can't be ALL about studying right? :)
YES. But for now... it seems like it has to be.
Alrighty than i gotta go now and do what life seems to be about for now.

Yup and you guessed it.
Studying...

A Lengthy Story Worth Your Little Time.

Alright, firstly i'll have to disclaimer some stuff, this story is not written by me, yes hence it is so 'chim'.
Secondly i 'kopped' it from my brother's blog.
But since i credited him here, i am sure he'll be cool with it.

'Let me explain the problem science has with Jesus Christ.' The atheist
professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his
new students to stand.

'You're a Christian, aren't you, son?'

'Yes sir,' the student says.

'So you believe in God?'

'Absolutely.'

'Is God good?'

'Sure! God's good.'

'Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?'

'Yes.'

'Are you good or evil?'

'The Bible says I'm evil.'

The professor grins knowingly. 'Aha! The Bible!' He considers for a
moment.

'Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you
can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?'

'Yes sir, I would.'

'So you're good...!'

'I wouldn't say that.'

'But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if
you could. Most of us would if we could. But God doesn't.'

The student does not answer, so the professor continues. 'He
doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even
though he prayed to Jesus to heal him How is this Jesus good? Hmmm? Can
you answer that one?'

The student remains silent.

'No, you can't, can you?' the professor says. He takes a sip of
water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax.

'Let's start again, young fella Is God good?'

'Er...yes,' the student says.

'Is Satan good?'

The student doesn't hesitate on this one. 'No.'

'Then where does Satan come from?'

The student : 'From...God...'

'That's right. God made Satan, didn't he? Tell me, son. Is there
evil in this world?'

'Yes, sir.'

'Evil's everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything,
correct?'

'Yes.'

'So who created evil?' The professor continued, 'If God created
everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to
the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil.'

Without allowing the student to answer, the professor continues:
'Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible
things, do they exist in this world?'

The student: 'Yes.'

'So who created them?'

The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his
question. 'Who created them? There is still no answer. Suddenly the
lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom. The class is
mesmerized.

'Tell me,' he continues onto another student. 'Do you believe in
Jesus Christ, son?'

The student's voice is confident: 'Yes, professor, I do.'

The old man stops pacing. 'Science says you have five senses you
use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen
Jesus?'

'No sir. I've never seen Him'

'Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?'

'No, sir, I have not.'

'Have you ever actually felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or
smelt your Jesus? Have you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus
Christ, or God for that matter?'

'No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't.'

'Yet you still believe in him?'

'Yes.'

'According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable
protocol, science says your God doesn't exist. What do you say to that,
son?'

'Nothing,' the student replies. 'I only have my faith.'

'Yes, faith,' the professor repeats. 'And that is the problem
science has with God. There is no evidence, only faith.'

The student stands quietly for a moment, before asking a
question of his own. 'Professor, is there such thing as heat?'

'Yes,' the professor replies. 'There's heat.'

'And is there such a thing as cold?'

'Yes, son, there's cold too.'

'No sir, there isn't.'

The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested.
The room suddenly becomes very quiet. The student begins to explain.

'You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat,
mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we
don't have anything called 'cold'. We can hit up to 458 degrees below
zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is
no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the
lowest -458 degrees. Every body or object is susceptible to study when
it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have
or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat.
You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of
heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units
because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the
absence of it.'

Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom,
sounding like a hammer.

'What about darkness, professor. Is there such a thing as
darkness?'

'Yes,' the professor replies without hesitation. 'What is night
if it isn't darkness?'

'You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the
absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have
Nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to
define the word. In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able
to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?'

The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him.
This will be a good semester. 'So what point are you making, young man?'

'Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is
flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed.'

The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time.
'Flawed? Can you explain how?'

'You are working on the premise of duality,' the student
explains. 'You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good
God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something
finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a
thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much
less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life
is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive
thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it.'

'Now tell me, professor. Do you teach your students that they
evolved from a monkey?'

'If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young
man, yes, of course I do'

'Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?'

The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he
realizes where the argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.

'Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work
and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you
not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a
preacher?'

The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the
Commotion has subsided.

'To continue the point you were making earlier to the other
student, let me give you an example of what I mean.'

The student looks around the room. 'Is there anyone in the class
who has ever seen the professor's brain?' The class breaks out into
laughter.

'Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain,
felt the professor's brain, touched or smelled the professor's brain? No
one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of
empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no
brain, with all due respect, sir. So if science says you have no brain,
how can we trust your lectures, sir?'

Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the
student, his face unreadable.

Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. 'I
guess you'll have to take them on faith.'

'Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists
with life,' the student continues. 'Now, sir, is there such a thing as
evil?'

Now uncertain, the professor responds, 'Of course, there is. We
see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man.
It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world.
These manifestations are nothing else but evil.'

To this the student replied, 'Evil does not exist sir, or at
least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God.
It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe
the absence of God.

God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when
man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold
that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there
is no light.

The professor sat down.

9.30am's & King's place/ Swimming Olympic fascination.

whoa.
Big lesson learnt about myself today.
I am so not a morning person.
Sadly, i had to find out the hard way by making King wait super long for me.

You see, i was supposed to be at her house at 9.30am.
I woke up at 10 minutes to 9. Brilliant.
So i quickly messaged her to inform her i'll be late.
Say, i will be coming round 9 45am.
She replied and said it was okay.
So far so good.
However due to many further complications i ended up at her place @ 10.50am.
A staggering 1hour 20 minutes later.
And you know, the worst thing was that i was the one to suggest we meet at 9.30am.
How smart of me.

Anyways, in the end i was the only one there to do the project work cause Lau and Chua
couldn't make it. Sadly, but its alright. Me and King made a mighty fine team aye?
Well, yeah sort of i would think.
She's the writer and i am the paster.
So it was write, paste, write, paste.
We were pretty efficient i would say.
Oh and er by the way the project was about the NE (National Education).

So yeah that was to kickstart the day.
Pasting at King's house.

Oh and before that, at 10.24am,
sadly, Tao Li, Singapore's national swimmer did not manage to get an olympic medal.
My pops and i were quite sad.
Which is why i said 'sadly..'
But oh wells, nevertheless, well done!
How often do we see a Singaporean entering the FINALS of the Olympics eh?
I'll tell you not very often.
In fact quite rarely, so well done TL!

Speaking of swimming,
Oh my gosh, i must tell you how fascinated and excited i get when i watch the swimming events
on the olympics. I would think that it is THE MOST exciting event out of all the olympic games.
Well, thats just how i feel personally.
Anyways, for the MENS swimming i am a fan of Michael Phelps.
He's looking pretty good... ;)
Oh i mean as in performance wise,
And also... well, physically. (haha!)
He really has the physic of a swimmer man,
A really good swimmer.
Hope he achieves his goal of 8 medals.

Ah there we have it!
The one and only Michael Phelps.
I think his really cool and not to mention really TALL.

Anyways, now for a song before i go off.

Dream - Priscilla Ahn

Its really good.
Her name's Priscilla Ahn.
Haha yes, you read me, Priscilla Ahn.
This song is taken from her ep, and its called "Dream"
Yeah even though it isn't me its still great and fantastic.
I love the acoustic folksy sound she makes.
Lovely.
I guess its just a Priscilla thing. =)
Alrighty than, seat back, relax and enjoy the music.

Ooh yes and for those of you who are in 'the little red dot' pls remember to watch the
9 'o Clock show on channel 8. Its the best thing ever.
Yes.. the one starring Fann Wong.
Remember ah.....
Okay goody, bye now.

Be my Everything.

I love this Song.
It does what many of us don't do.
It makes God personal.
It makes God ours.
Its not a religion, not something adults talk about to seem intellectual, its also not about Sunday mornings.
Its about a relationship with Him.

"Be my everything, be my everything, be my everything, You're my everything...."

New Edition:

Check out the newly added on widget at the side: 5 things about me you didn't need to know.

Hope you like it!
Pris.

Here's a Thought:

its all in the details.
its all in the details.
its all in the details.
Its all in the details.
Its all in the details.

"Here's a thought: Trendy togs + bad shoes = zero style. Sweet smelling aftershave + bad boxers = again, zero style. Ensure all those hours of picking out that signature shirt don't go to waste, by dotting those is and crossing your trendy tees with a helping of accessory acumen." - Ben Sherman.

Well said, well said.

Le Mer/I like Ben Sherman/And a question to ponder on.

Alright, before you do anything or read anything,
Ah... now wasn't that nice?

Ooh... yeah...
Nice, wonderful, marvelous, french music featured in Mr.Bean's Holiday.
Oh and by the way its en titled "Le Mer" or in english "Somewhere beyond the sea".

Okay maybe you can't fully GRASP the beauty of the song because you have no idea (just like me) what the crap the guy is singing about! But, you see what he sings about, well i wouldn't say it didn't matter but hey, its harmless, because he's just talking about the beach.
Its something along the lines of meeting his lover at the beach and having a wonderful time.
"Ooh...Scandalous..." you mean say, but really it isn't. Well at least i think it isn't.
Don't you love these old classics? These old lovely french classics?
Somehow there is something about the classics that make me reminiscence.
Er but not there is anything to reminiscence about but yeah...
It just has that "oh-i-am-gonna-make-you-reminisize-whether-you-like-it-or-not" vibe about it.

Anyways, i haven't blogged lately.
Mainly because i didnt really have the 'inspiration' to.
Yes, you actually need 'inspiration' to blog.
Or at least to blog about something worth blogging and reading about.
But today, somehow after reading my friends blog, i just inevitably went to my own and started blogging.
So here i am!
Well aren't you glad. =)

Yes and so today is National Day, for my country at least it is.
And Yesterday was 08.08.08.
Yup, the opening of the OLYMPICS in Beijing for the very first time.
Honestly, when i watched it, i felt a certain sense of pride, well at least something like that.
I guess its because well, if you think about it, technically, i come from China (or at least my ancestors did, which in a way makes me come from there too, indirectly.)
I really enjoyed the opening, i can surely and truthfully say that it didn't make me bored.
In fact it amused me to such an extent i kept the channel on, yeah the channel that was showing
the Olympics Opening ceremony.
Not bad, not too bad at all.
Hmmm no, even 'not bad' would be an understatement.
An understatement of an understatement.

Anyways today, i tried studying.
Yes, tried.
I italics-ed tried.
Because in actual fact, i didn't study that much.
Well, at least i tried.
Hmm.. but too bad in today's society, trying sometimes isn't enough.
Its the results that count, which to me is so sad.
Whatever happened to doing things for the experience eh?
Gone down the drain thats what.
In this fast paced world we live in now, its give me the results or you're OUT and left behind!
Sigh.
Oh well,
Who cares, i'll still keep trying and hopefully, i'll get the results.
Hopefully.

Oh YES, and by the way, i like Ben Sherman now.
Yes its a guy a real person, but NO he isn't one of my infatuations.
Its a brand.
A clothes brand.
In a way, you could say i 'fell in love' with it.
Its really.... something i would like.
I like the way their designs are.. so retro yet modern.
So Ben Sherman, i guess.
Well, than there you have it, I like Ben Sherman.

Don't know why?
Allow me to convince you.

( The English Mustard Collection)

(The Deep Purple Collection)

Ohhh... Yeah, i know...
Wow. Right?
Yes of course.

Hmm well, if you are a guy you may be thinking,
"Ah gees, yeah it'll look great on my girlfriend or wife or sister but not me.."
Well than you are correct.
But don't worry, they have a MENS section too.
Check this out.

Yup yup yup, i know.
Whoa.
Haha yes i think Ben Sherman really has a neck for designing.
You can check out more about it here. (uh, click on the here.)

Sometimes i wish i had this little plastic card and...
Well lemme tell you the only action i will be doing with it would be a
"swipe and swish" here, there and EVERYWHERE.
Literally.
Don't put a credit card in my hand.
Maybe theres some wisdom in parents not giving their teens credit cards after all.

Oh well....
Oh yes and have i told you that i want to learn the violin?
Like, seriously i do.
I think its such a classy instrument.
Its really cool.
And you know, i wonder what i would say if someone asks this question just before i die.
"Was there ever anything you wanted to do in this life but weren't able to?"
All i know is that i really wish my answer would be nothing but, No.
Well, wouldn't you? ;)
