The Right Perspective
This is not how it could be
This is how it is
And our God is in control
This is not how it will be
When we finally will see
We'll see with our own eyes
He was always in control
And we'll sing holy, holy, holy is our God
And we will finally really understand what it means
So we'll sing holy, holy, holy is our God
While we're waiting for that day
This is not where we planned to be
When we started this journey
But this is where we are
And our God is in control
Though this first taste is bitter
There will be sweetness forever
When we finally taste and see
That our God is in control

beautifully written words... from about 300 over years ago.
- from The Declaration of Independence. (wiki)
Do you know Singapore has its own Declaration of Independence? (from separation with Malaysia) Ya.. totally not inspiring. Haha! It was very technical, and i guess you have to be when you are writing such an important document but still.... it should be something understandable by the average joe (or in this case the ah hocks and ah kows), written in lay-man's terms, so people can better appreciate it.
I went to wiki Singapore's constitution (because i have never heard of it...i mean honestly! have you???)
And check this out, "freedom of speech, assembly and association" is apparently one of our fundamental rights.
Interesting........
But.. there is a clause, "Part XII of the constitution allows the Parliament of Singapore to enact legislation designed to stop or prevent subversion. Such legislation is valid even if it is inconsistent with Part IV of the constitution."
And subversion, btw "refers to an attempt to overthrow the established order of a society."
Haha how interesting right?
It's like no wonder..........
So does this mean that there will never be a revolution in Singapore?
But then again, do we even need one?
Anyhows, i was just thinking...
MOE should totally make it mandatory for every student in Singapore to study Singapore history. You know all the merger, konfrantasi (don't know if i spelt that right) stuff, because I think that way, we would able to better appreciate our social harmony and not demand for things that are just.... plain ludacris.
It will also help us gain a better insight into our history and the circumstances and factors Singapore was built upon and hopefully instill a sense of Pride for our nation (other than the national day parade we always have) having known the struggle for Independence.
Perhaps even get some youths interested in singapore politics.
Hmmm.....

So funny.
Wonder why they call it twitter.
It's like.... so... birdy to me.

My legs are killin me...
Went to town with Nat (the hippie, whom i havent hung out with since forever) whom for today, or this week, should be henceforth known as Nat the Stylist instead because i asked her out to help me choose an outfit for Friday.
And if you don't know what's Friday, Friday is Fairfield's Annual Band & Choir Concert held @ Singapore Conference Hall where i have been given the honour together with Al Emporio to host.
Yeah... i know... pretty heavy duty...
Anyways, we walked till our legs ached so bad (and we weren't even wearing heels or what not, it was just slippers and shoes) but that was all the bad that happened.
I managed to pick out a STUNNING outfit for Friday together with the help of Nat plus catch up with her. Yeap we had a whole year's catch-up convo.
So i was pretty happy & contended. :)
In the other news, i think Prince William, (as in the next in line or the next next in line for the throne of Britain) is pretty handsome. But... here's the gasping news... he's balding.
Like... pretty bad i think, which is quite sad cause i think he is kinda too young for that.
Sigh it must be tough being a Prince.
Or...
He could just be genetically unlucky.
Hmm...
No actually i wouldn't really say that, considering he is really handsome and he gets to be a Prince.

I. know. right.
I think he got his looks from his mom. (Princess Diana) She was really pretty too.

Life does surprise you.
All we did was talk. Eat. talk.
I'd never thought i'd say this but it was good.
I have to admit i had fun.
On another note, Chemistry, was just... plain sly.
They should change the simile from, "as sly as a fox" to "as sly as a Cambridge O level Chem paper.
But, i guess that would just be a mouthful to say.

So..... this is what goes on in a Mathematican's Head.
He is also known to draw seemingly, 'mind-bending'/ paradoxical images. He was a mathematician as well as an artist. Pretty cool eh?
Try to follow the path from the highest level. Get the picture?
I think you could stare at it all day long and not get bored.
And lastly, his most famous work................
"Ascending and Descending"
Also featured in the movie, "Inception".
If you don't get the paradox, look at the highest level of the castle.
Yeah... now you see it.
Alright, have fun staring... ciao!
I love the words of this song....
Let Your glory light the darkness in my night
When the suffering's all the I see
May I walk with You by faith and not by sight
On the road of sweet surrender
I have nothing but to offer You my life
Greater love I have not found it
All be mercy You have eased this troubled mind
Open hearted
You said search
And I will find
Wo, oh, oh, oh, oa
Sin is broken
The lost now chosen
The Father's heart
Humble King, You go before me
By Your grace I live for everything that's true
Through your son I am made wealthy
There's no other who will love me like You do
And forever
I'll keep running
Back to You
You reign
You reign in all the earth
Wo, oh, oh, oh, oa

I just sent perhaps the most umprofessional letter
I am Priscilla Lim, a Student, going to graduate from Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) in a matter of 6 days and i was wondering if IKEA has any job openings for students during the holidays. Firstly, let me just say how much i love IKEA, (which is one of the reasons why i wish to apply for a temp job here) it is really not so much about the money as it is about how amazing the culture is at IKEA. Every time i go there, it just feels as though it is something different. Therefore, i am writing this email in hope that there is a job, perhaps suitable for someone like me at IKEA. (more preferably the Alexandra Outlet)
I have pretty good interpersonal skills, i am good with strangers, so sales would probably be a good fit. I was Debate president for two years in Secondary school and an EXCO member of the Symphonic Band. I really hope that there is a job suitable for me during this holidays at IKEA.
It is, for now, my dream job.
Please let me know if you need any more information and i would be glad to provide it.
Yours Sincerely,
Priscilla Lim.
Hmmm.... now i Wonder what they'll say...

LARGEST PRIME NUMBER AS OF YET IS.......
And apparently, Chris Boone was right, you can earn money finding really really really really large prime numbers. Check this out.
"In 2008 the record passed ten million digits, earning a $100,000 prize.[5] Additional prizes are being offered for the first prime number found with at least one hundred million digits and the first with at least one billion digits.[1]"
- excerpt from wiki's article on the largest prime number.
And here's how you can win some $
Apparently there are free online softwares that can be run on your own computer in search of a really big prime number and if you're fortunate, you could win some money for it.
How cool is that right?
On the other hand, i wonder whether the amount of $ spent leaving your computer running will equate to your probability of you finding a really large number.

A little over a week left till this agony is over.....
Don't lose your way
With each passing day
You're come so far
Don't throw it away
Live believing
Dreams are for wearing
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story,
Faith,hope and glory
Hold to the truth in your heart
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
When clouds roll by
For you and I
Souls in the wind
must learn how to bend
Seek out a star
Hold on till the end
Valley, mountain,
There is a fountain
Washes our tears all away
Words are swaying,
Someone is praying
Please let us come home to stay
When we are out there in the dark
We'll dream about the sun
In the dark we'll feel the light
Warm our hearts, everyone
If we hold on together
I know our dreams
Will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
As high as souls can fly
The clouds roll by
For you and....I
- If We Hold on Together by Diana Ross from The Land Before Time.
I am getting myself a job like this over the holidays:
No not as a comedian, but a pitchman. Or better known in the Singapore society as a, "promoter".
Of course in real life it will be a googleplex times less glam (and funny) but hey! what a life experience huh?
I actually think that......
Just like the way your legs do, when you sit cross-legged for too long.
It is said that......
I have two schools of thought on reading this.
My first inital thought which came to me instantly when i first read this was, ha! i wonder if anyone is dumb enough to try it to find out if really works.
The second was that yelling or producing noise or sound is a very good way to produce energy. Of course, as can be seen from the above interesting fact, it isnt exactly the most efficient way. BUT, it is still a way. Plus the fact that sound is the easiest energy in the world to generate. I remember studying chemistry (i think it was the chapter on fuels) and thinking that if we could somehow harness sound energy produced and translate it into a form of energy we could store and use. Then, i'd think that we'd have just found the world's most renewable source of energy.
BUT.
Of course, life is never that simple.
I am sure someone else out there has thought of that before and found it unfeasible and thus, here we are still stuck with the good ol fossil fuels. Burning it up, and polluting the planet.
Sigh.

Okay... so i've toned it down...
It's kinda cute don't you think?
The repeated patterns remind me of a little boy's favourite bedsheet or blanket or boxer shorts.
goodbye minimalism....and hello to you*bottom.
Because my old one was no longer available on the blogger template selection.
Now i am stuck with the new fancy but over-compartmentalised themes to choose from. As can be seen. I feel so restricted now. Like... restricted. Just look at the invisible lines around this post. Urgh!
It's disgusting.
Sigh.
I think blogger was thinking it was doing users a favour by 'upgrading' to more 'modern' themes.
Sigh.
Gone are the days of stylish minimalism.
The secret to everything timelessly, good-looking.
You know what's the real problem?
The real problem is that people think that more is good.
oh here we go: the age-old flawed beyond recognition equation of more=good.
Omgoons i wonder who came up with that warped concept because it is so inherent in our society today and it could possibly be the cause for everything going haywire.
Including, the blogosphere.
I use to remember, i still do it actually, i would/will visit blogs and literally, cringe when music starts playing (pls dont get offended if your blog plays music because there are always exceptions in life), and when there are so many things on a single page my eyes go into a "where's-wally-mood", just that this time i am not finding wally, i am finding the words that form the posts of the blog to read.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is that bad.
And now, behold, for i have become just like one of em.
GASP. the horror...... (wow i didn't know i could be so dramatic)
.................................................................................
Okay, wait i just have to show you what i mean.
This is what a house would look like if you designed it, based on minimalism.

Ta-da! Gorgeous ain't it? Precisely.
Now, what about minimalism in....... fashion?

oh my. beau-ti-ful.
I have always been a firm believer in the minimalist-movement.
Excess, as my English teacher always says, denies.
ANWY, my title says hello to bottom with a star, on bottom because i am not quite sure how many of us know who bottom is.
Yes, that's right, bottom is actually a who.
Not the best buds you constantly make to kiss the floor.
Bottom as in the fictitious character Shakespeare brings to life in, A Midsummer Night's Dream. (i hate this play btw)
Anyways, bottom in the play is this obnoxious, yet lovable character, who, literally makes an ass of himself.
So thus, hello to you bottom, because my theme now and everything else that constitutes this blog just screams obnoxious now.
Be it the larger than life fonts, or the louder than loud backgrounds.
Urgh...
sadsad.
Oh wells, what's a girl to do?
But to embrace it.

My Favourite Aesop's Fable: The Wind & the Sun.
Thus, the Sun was declared the winner and ever since then, persuasion has been held in higher esteem than force. Indeed, Sunshine of a kind and gentle manner will sooner open a poor man's heart than all the threats and force of blustering authority.
- From Aesop's Fables.
When i first read this story i was like, whoa.
That was good.
And then, as all good-curious teenagers i went to google aesop's fables and found out that aesop was actually a greek slave, and he was so prominient that even Greek philosophers like socrates read his fables whilst he was in jail or something. (wiki)
Neat eh?
I don't know why, but i had always thought Aesop was French.
Hmmm.....

Thank You
Bio today was.... alright. It was for me, the only paper i sat for and i came out smiling.
So, really thank God although i realised that i did make some careless mistakes, (which are the... omg i am gonna shoot myself in the foot kind) but oh wells, whats done is done. Thank God nonetheless because i really had no time to do Bio revision other than 3 weeks ago. So really Thank God.
JJJJJosh grobannnnnnn.....

So lately, i've been listening to a lot of celine dion and Josh Groban. Maybe because i needed the 'inspirational' vibe they always give off through their songs. But either way, i have concluded.
Josh Groban = Best Male Singer Ever. Period.
Celine Dion? Hmmm...... haha maybe i am being bias here (of course i am!)...
I enjoy listening to her french songs and of course, the legendary Titanic song.
But... best female singer ever? that's a tough one.
