My 1st Attempt at Film Photography was 8/36 a success!

Which means 28/36 a failure, which makes it overall a failure.

Here are some of my favourite shots:
But of course you can't really tell whether their good shots here because this aren't the actual photos scanned in, these are pictures of the photos taken using my dad's motorola milestone camera. So obviously, some qualities of the actual photo will be loss along the way, like colour-vibrantness and tone.

I think this is my favourite shot of all that i've taken with this role of film.
You should see the actual photo. The colour is just so...right.
It's sharp, focusing on jocelyn and her priceless smile. Just perfect. A very natural shot.

You can't really see it here. But somehow, the photo blurs at the edges and focuses soley on the subject here. Adelin Ang. (haha!) There also seems to be a serpia tone colour produced (have no idea why) And i managed to capture her natural smile. Beautiful.

Awww.... the sucha sweet photo. Pity Beck's head got cut off by the shadow.
(I WARNED YOU, Becks)

Love the shadows here.

I love the serious-ness of my school's security guard projected here.
The look on his face is so natural.

Love how the photo encapsulates the whole school behind them.
The shadows at the side and the jagged lines on the other.

I like the colour saturation in this photo, which is obviously not accurately protrayed here in this picture of the photo.

And finally.... haha the photographer, me. I like this shot, (not because of the subject)
But because the colours came out very natural, real-to-life kind of feel to it and it was focusing on my face instead of the wall. So yeap, i like it. =)

Although sadly, these are the only photos that turned out nice out of the 36.
The rest are either, shaky, not-enough-light-ish, or the subjects got cut-off.
Yeah... it's quite sad.
Oh well... at least i churned out these 8 winners. =)

Here's What i've learnt from the other 28 photos:
1. sunlight is the best light.
Apparently, the flash on my minolta camera is terrible. Results have shown very obviously that sunlight is the best light to use. Never take indoor shots. period.

2. The viewfinder lies.
A lot of my subjects got cut-off. WHAT.ON.EARTH. Making the picture incomplete and the photographer, inadequate. =(

3. Never develop photos downstairs my house.
I think the shop downstairs doesn't develop nice photos. The printing's pretty bleh. Either that or it's my photo-taking. Next time round, i'll develop it at Westmall & we'll see.
